  • Take a look at our first national newsletter edited by Seattle Chito-ryu's Fara Nizamani
  • The newsletter contains a description of our first Kangeiko (winter training) and an article by Sensei Dipboye on the anatomy of the 'solar plexus'.

Past news

  • Our last test was Friday 5/4/07
  • On 1/20/2007, Seattle Chito-ryu held a 3 hour kangeiko (winter training). This special class was led by Kyoshi Joseph Hedderman from Pittsburgh, PA and was FANTASTIC. Pictures coming soon.
  • Our class presented a demonstration of Chito-ryu karate-do on Tuesday 12/5, 6pm at the South Bellevue Community Center as part of the one-year anniversary celebration of the Community Center. Video coming soon.

  • George R VanHorne was promoted on August 29th to 9th Dan, Chito-ryu karate-do by the Kokusai Shoshin-kan Karate-do Renmei. He passed away surrounded by family and friends on September, 24th, 2006.

    • Prior to his death, Hanshi VanHorne awarded the following promotions to Koshin-ha Chito-kai:
      • Joe Hedderman - 7th-dan
